You know what kills me? Meeting entrepreneurs who are truly psyched and passionate about their business, only to find out they’re doing the branding themselves or worse, buying a pre-made package on Etsy.
Buying an off-the-shelf package that 20 other businesses have already purchased won't give your brand a coherent voice, let alone individuality.
And trying to do it yourself? Well, I’m sure you’re amazing at what you do. You have strengths that make you stand out in the world. If one of your strengths is designing brand identities then awesome! Go for it! But if that’s not one of your strengths, trust in a professional to give your brand the look and feel that it deserves.
So now that I’ve got that off my chest, what exactly is branding? Well, it’s certainly not just a snazzy logo.
• Branding is a commitment to your businesses purpose and aspiration.
• It’s an entire ecosystem which identifies you to the audience you seek.
• It’s a representation of who you are and what you stand for, and deeply affects the impression you leave on a consumer.

All this travels across multiple touch points and needs to be consistent, or your business will appear disjointed and muddled.
So, what does a successful brand identity strive for?
Designing a brand identity is a process of interpreting, defining and representing the core of your business in a way that sets it out for success. It’s so important, so don’t think of it as just a logo. Think of it as your brand’s personality, individuality, authenticity and meaning. And as they say at Loreal, your brand’s worth it!
